SCHOLARSHIPS

Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame Awards Scholarships to Students studying
Insurance and Risk Management.

Providing scholarships is one of the lesser known benefits of the Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame programs.  Each year, students entering or attending Insurance and Risk Management or Actuarial Science programs at colleges in the State of Michigan are awarded individual scholarships, and insurance focused academic programs are granted funds allowing students to attend insurance industry conferences and functions.

The purpose of the Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame is to recognize individuals for excellence in leadership, service, and contributions to improve the ability of the Michigan insurance industry to serve the public in the state of Michigan, and furthermore to support education, research, and technology that advances the understanding and public awareness and recognition of the economic role of the insurance and risk management business.

In its effort to support education that advances the understanding and public awareness and recognition of the economic role of the insurance and risk management business, the Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame awards scholarships to students studying insurance and risk management. The scholarship funds are donated by current members and friends of the Hall of Fame.  As each induction ceremony nears, the Hall solicits donations in the name of the current inductees.  The majority of the scholarships are awarded to high school seniors who will be entering college in the fall and majoring in insurance and risk management
